Materials for consumer advice


The education program information pack titled Manage Pain — effectively, safely, responsibly, launched in August 2009, has been updated from 5 March 2010. Manage Pain — effectively, safely, responsibly now includes the following contents and resources:

For patients

  • A flyer with guidance on checking active ingredients, reporting adverse events and seeking advice from healthcare professionals
  • A pad of ‘3 things to remember’ sticky notes outlining the risks of misusing the product to be placed on all packets of non-prescription combination analgesics containing codeine
  • Directions to www.managepain.com.au, which provides visitors with information on the appropriate use of codeine
